Discover Morzine, France
Our retreat will take place in Morzine, which is an idyllically scenic and traditional alpine village with beautiful wooden chalets nestling in the Alps between mountains and forests. Morzine is located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, close to the Swiss border, midway between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc.
It is like an amazing limitless, gigantic outdoor adventure playground. There is so much to do for all ages and interests.
Morzine is a beautiful village that has preserved its traditional Savoyard architecture. It has an abundance of activities to try, from our wonderful yoga retreat to the adrenaline rush of the downhill mountain biking scene, or white water rafting and everything in between. Take a family walk through the forest along the river Dranse stopping off at the great playground or enjoy a workout using the twenty obstacles alongside the river, over a 4km circuit. The circuit is also perfect for jogging.
You will find it packed full of charming cafés, bars and restaurants and offering a wide variety of delightful shops and boutiques.
The village sits at the base of several mountains, it looks towards Lake Geneva, across to Mont Blanc and upwards to the resort of Avoriaz. A river runs through the centre of town, offering stunning flat easy walks with wooded areas and shade.
You will fall in love with the diversity, authenticity and beauty of Morzine and the surrounding area.

How do I get safely to my dream retreat ?Costa Rica's main International airport is Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica. Another airport you can fly to is Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), also known as Liberia International Airport, located in Liberia, in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. From both airports, you can catch a domestic flight to Cobano Airport using Fly SANSA or Green Airways. The average flight time is 30 minutes and the flight offers beautiful panoramic views. From Cobano we can organise a private taxi to meet you and bring you straight to the doors of Calamocha. The fare costs approximately $50 and requires cash payment. You can also fly into Tambor Airport which is 45 mins to 1 hour away and the taxi cost is approx $60 to Calamocha. Alternatively there is a company called Tropical Tours which operates a daily coach service to Santa Teresa which can be booked online and will pick you up from San Jose and Liberia airports. The trip is approximately six hours and costs around $60. From Santa Teresa, we can organise a private taxi to meet you and bring you right to the doors of Calamocha. The fare costs around $30 and once again requires cash payment.

Will I feel safe in Costa Rica?Absolutely. We have had many personal experiences of travelling solo as a female around this beautiful country on all forms of transport. We have always felt safe and everyone is very friendly.
-
Do I need to speak Spanish?Hola! No, it is not necessary to speak Spanish. However, phrases such as hola, gracias, buenos días and por favor will take you a long way with the locals and bring you a smile. If you do speak a little Spanish, go for it!
-
What currency do I need? Do I need cash while I’m there?Costa Rican currency is Colones. US Dollars are accepted in most places. You will receive your change in Colones. It is handy to have some cash when, or example, paying for taxis, buying things from local craft makers.. There are ATMs in Santa Teresa and you can pay by card in most places.
-
I am travelling from Europe, how much time will I need to take off?To make the most of your trip, we suggest a minimum of 10 days. We are happy to help you plan before and after the retreat. Most European flights arrive in the evening and you will need to spend a night in San Jose. We can you refer you to an excellent hotel close to San Jose airport with pickup the following morning. Just ask us for help. Additionally, Tropical Shuttles can pick you up from the hotel the next morning and bring you straight to us!
-
What is the weather like?Costa Rica's weather is consistently warm all year round with average temperatures throughout the country ranging from 75 - 90F (24-32C}. The most stable and dry weather is during the months of November through to April. (This is considered "High Season" or summer). There is a rainy season with the rainiest months being September and October. We do not offer Retreats during these months.
-
What do I need to pack?Sunscreen. The sun on the equator is hot. Mosquito repellent. We are in the jungle, after all :) We recommend sneakers / closed toe shoes for hiking and travelling. Yoga pants and sports wear. Bathing suits and flip flops. In general, Costa Rica doesn't have a strict dress code so comfortable and casual quick-drying clothes are best for pretty much the entire country.
-
Use of Electricity outlets and Cell (Mobile) phones? In Costa Rica the standard voltage is 120V (frequency is 60Hz) and is compatible with chargers, and appliances from the US and Canada. Visitors from Europe (and most other countries) will require a power plug adapter or voltage converter. Most of Costa Rica uses GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) networks; and so making & receiving calls should be no problem except in the most remote areas of the country. And it is worth noting that for internet calling and texting - Whatspp is the most popular phone app in Costa Rica; and local studies have shown that approximately 97% of the population have it installed on their phones.
