I love this month. I call it Feel Good February. In Ireland, the 1st is the beginning of Spring and also St Brigid's Day which is all about having hope and inner strength.
This was not always the case. I used to feel down in February with the dark mornings and evenings, the cold weather, Valentines Day shenanigans etc. I didn't want to struggle, I wanted to feel good. So, I decided to increase my self-care, self-compassion and self-love every February. I proactively made it a different and positive month that I looked forward to.
I started burning Grapefruit essential oil first thing in the morning(even before my coffee). Grapefruit helps with seasonal disorder SAD.
I wore as much Rose Quartz crystal jewelry as I could. Rose Quartz is for self love, confidence and harmony in all aspects of your life.
Once a week for the month I would book a treatment, massage, reflexology, a float or integrated energy therapy energy healing.
I always buy myself a Valentines pressie single or not. In fact my Basic level Integrated Energy Therapy training was a Valentines pressie to myself in 2015.
I wrote one affirmation, stuck it on the mirror and worked with it for a month. "I approve of myself." It is a good one and helps to build self confidence.
I set the intention at the beginning of the month that it will be an easy, gentle, loving month and I would talk kinder to myself.
What does February mean for you? How do you feel about this month? Because what you are feeling and think about this month will become your reality during it. How do you want to feel? Send your energy to that if you're not feeling how you want to.
Can you think of one thing you can do each week for this month, for YOU? Who knows maybe it will become a new behaviour that you can carry on for the year? Self Care Works!
